P5K motherboard and SATA again: resolution?

Well, according to my integrator, there are only two solutions for the ASUS P5K motherboard + SATA drive problem: one is to jumper the “opt1” option (pins 5 and 6 on my WD3200K drive) or replace the motherboard; he is recommending the P5E. Since my system is in warranty, I’m going to go ahead with the latter option on his recommendation, even though that means my system will not be back for a couple weeks yet.

This is a drag, but I still have my old Pentium 4 system chugging along so I can at least work on songs while I’m waiting.
